This exhibition is a collection of contemporary figurative paintings composed by southern California artists. All are using the conventions of their predecessors to create something all together new and inventive. Through the ghosts of art history they are using the figure as a springboard to lift them to new horizons in their work. There is a re-birth in figurative art and these artists are among the leaders in its transition from the academic mundane to modern risk taking.

Artists: Kent Twitchell, Rebecca Campbell, Justin Bower, Kent Williams, DJ Hall, F. Scott Hess, Sean Cheetham, Joseph Todorovitch, Natalia Fabia, Leslie Brown, Eric Pedersen, Dan McCaw, Virginia Broersma, Chris Gwaltney, Rogelio Manzo, Seamus Conley, Suzanne Unrein, Steven Assael, Richard Morris, Aaron Westerberg, Marc Trujillo, Sergio Sanchez and sculptures by Peter Zhang.
